Vermeer baler issues

I have a Vermeer 504 super G baler.

I have a couple questions about it. First Vermeer does not show a 504 super G, only the 504g and 504g with wide belt kit. My problem is neither is the type belts I have. The regular has 6 belts and the wide belt kit has two 9 or 10 belts and 4-6 belts. Mine has two 14 belts and one 9.

As you can see the center belt broke. According to the information I can find it should be 436 long, but mine is 444. Is it possible that it stretched that far?

Should I cut it to that length or match the other belts?

Finally, anyone heard of a superG or seen this belt setup?

Match it with the others on it or do the best thing and make all 3 the correct length.
Yes they stretch and the baler doesn't work as good when they get to long. Not sure why it makes a difference as I have never noticed it but that is what they say. Maybe we just compensate as they get longer and just don't notice it. I do know that if one is short and the other long they have a tenancy to over lap each other and rip easier.

You definitely want the belts close in length. Those 14" belts aren't the original belts.

its a lot of work but when I broke one on my Deere I pulled them all off and cut them the same length with all new splices. I figured if one pulled the lacing they all would sooner or later.

My 504H has 2 10 outer belts with about 5 4 inner belts. If anyone ever replaces those wide outer belts, get the narrower belt for the outers. I bought the wide ones but found out that they dont let hay fall out from behind the belts and I'm always having to get off and pull hay from behind the belts.

Oh, but a skinny belt on the edge is a problem, they drift off to the side and jumble up much more so! You will end up with more creative words if you put skinny belts on the edges......

I dont have an answer for Jon, my 605F has the wide outer and skinny inner belts. The wide belt setup doesnt seem original for a Vermeer of that age, but Im no expert.

I agree with the others you need all the belts within an inch or so of each other.

I have A Vermeer 504 super G mine has 2 10 belts and 3 4 belts. I think the Super G was just updated over the regular 504 I do have the original owners manual and parts book so if you need anything?
Parts book shows 9 belts 438 and 4 belts at 436. I read this is because the smaller belts stretch easier than the wide belts.
