New Idea Paint

Just bought a pretty straight old New Idea model 19 spreader. Everything on it works perfect but it has sat outside for lord knows how long so needs wood, tires and paint. Was to hard to pass up for 40 bucks. Anybody know the paint codes for the orange and Forrest green that NI was using at the time? I also heard at one point there was a historical society in Ohio that had all the archives and historical info from the factory. Can anybody point me to where that place might be?

Coldwater historical . Rustoleum hunter green is prety close to the New Idea green, also Oliver green. and they have an orange that I used on the rebuilt hay rakes for sale to the Amish.

We had a lot of New Idea and a lot of OLiver around here back in the day. If an Oliver implement was parked beside a New Idea implement I don't think a person could tell the difference in paint color.

Found this old post here 2010 for ya

Martin-Senout 4977 New Idea Orange - Ditzler 3255 or Sherwin Williams 6780 for New Idea green.
Or you can get spray cans from AGCO for the New Idea green and Orange, although that might not be quite accurate to the old colors.

Ollie Wendel of the New Idea Historical Preservation Committee might have additional info.
