modern tractors and no computers

A buddy of mine was talking to a NH salesman today and on the lot was a Workmaster 50 open station and Workmaster 60 open station described as the old style tractor with NO computer controls. If you needed a cab then you had to take the computer controlled engine. Has anyone out there seen or heard of this option on modern day tractors. This simple setup was only offered on this 50-60 hp size tractor. The salesman also said he was under the impression the green and yellow tractor had a similar package.

Aren't the computers needed for the pollution controls? Don't the new diesel problems stem from the pollution controls?

This is a 2019 L3560
It has particle filter in exhaust

Computer tells it when to regen PM filter.

How does the fuel efficiency compare with the computer controlled engines?
Price differences?

Could it be that the engine still has full computer controls to meet emissions and only the dashboard and operator interface are old style? A link to the sales brochure would be very helpful.

He best find a sale$man that knows what he's talking about. I'm being charitable in saying that.
Last I looked at those models they most definitely had engine management controls on the open station tractors but these particular ones I'm familiar with are perhaps 2017 or 2018 models. Do you figure they did away with the computer since then?
These ones do have simple mechanical transmissions with a manual reverser. I find them a bit clunky to operate and the tractors are light to the point of being dangerous when fitted with a loader and no ballast... but generally seem to be a decent 'just enough' sort of spec for utility use at a good saving over Orange. You'll get more on the orange one but it's probably not significant enough to pay the premium for it.

The NH website lists a tier 3 model with mechanical fuel system and 2012 date on the brochure. The regular model has an electronic fuel system with 2015 date on the brochure.
