Run 1105 tractor without alternator

Is it bad to run my 1105 Massey without an alternator for an hour and half? My alternator went bad and I can't get another one for a couple days.I want to drive it in a parade.

Should run fine. Not sure how long the battery will last though if you need to run lights or flashers. Im not sure if the 05 series has an electric fuel shut off solenoid. That would be an issue I believe with a dead or near dead battery. Nice looking tractors !
 
As long as the bearing etc. in the alternator are okay so as not to mess up the belt sure you can run it till the cows come home. I ran my Ford 841S for over a year with out a working alternator. I just had to charge the battery every once in a while so it would start and run. If it is a diesel even better since the battery has nothing to do with it running
 
If the battery is in good condition,,,,,,,, and you bring it up to full charge before the parade,,,,,,,, and dont have to do a lot of stops and restarts (which I dont see why you would need to) and especially if its a diesel (subject to any fuel solenoid loads which I expect would be small) ,,,,,,,,, you can likely (subject to battery load) RUN A LONGGGGGGGGGGG TIME NO PROBLEM

If its like the 1155 I had you sure can, just don't shut it off. Like old said unless the bearings are bad it will be fine. Just remember you can't pull start it!
 
The alternator in my hay tractor has been bad for at least 5 years. Just charge it on occasion.
 
If its a Delco alternator, you need to unplug
The field wire connection, to help prevent
The alternator from discharging the battery.
 
Exactly. Same thing with a White 2-105 we had. It was actually
impressive how long the battery would last. Even with running
the AC in the cab.
 
Take other tractor this year and switch next year or switch alternator off other tractor and problem solved till you get the new alternator.
