2 days 500 bales. John Deere 4960 earnings its keep at 27 years old with new paint. One of the last old school Good tractors.

Guy on youtube has a 4960 and makes square bales for mushroom barns.
He fixed up the 4960 after a fire. Could tell he really liked the tractor even though during the past few years he switched to newer, higher-horsepower machines to run different brand of balers.
 
Son cuts my small acreage of wheat and I have asked him to windrow with combines (JD 9600's) as I want to go back with wheat and the wheat is very tall and thick this year so don't want to have to fight the straw prepping for another wheat crop. He sometimes bales behind combine with Hesston 4x8 baler with a JD 8640 and sells bales later into winter. We usually keep a few small bales of straw on hand for neighbors and our garden and we are running low so will try to get some smalls also.
 
I can use a few bales for my garden,

I covered my strawberries last with straw. They seemed to like it. I think straw is a good mulch, weed and moisture control. No weed seeds.
