I had this old Briggs Y engine in my junk for years. Im cleaning out now and am wondering what it could've been set up for with the crankshaft nubbed off like that. It looks like a factory cap on the end. The is a plate on the bottom. Did it gear drive directly off the crank in the bottom somehow?

I'm wondering what a motor with a kick start would be used for? First thought would be an old motor scooter. Second thought a washing machine.

I've heard of briggs kick start engines being used for washing machines. I've never heard of anything else they were put on though.

Used to find WWs around long time ago, they had kick starters. May have had a WY, think had shaft with rachet and pulley.

We had one like that around the farm, but ours had a shaft, big one, maybe 7/8. Way bigger than the washing machine Briggs that I put on my bicycle. Not sure what the original use of the bigger one was, we never used it for anything, but I played with it, it ran, but little power.
