Helping a Friend

Wilson in Indiana called me earlier. His internet is down and he has an offer. Next Wednesday he is traveling to Central Nebraska to pick up a COOP E3. He will be traveling via Interstate 80 across Illinois and Iowa. If someone has smaller items they need picked up and brought back to Indiana, call him at 1-812-699-0011.
He is a trustworthy individual and will not mess with you.

I've known Mr Wilson for many years. Agree,
He is a trustworthy individual and will not mess with you.

Before his move Mr Wilson used to be a neighbor and we had good times. He lovessssssssss those darn old old Co Ops

Character counts. Character is what you do when no one is watching. American schools no longer teach our children to be good citizens. Their roll models too often display a complete lack of character. We the parents and grandparents need to demand better.

I agree, character counts, but if some of the things that most say on these forums is any indication of their character, there's a serious lack of it among members.

K redneck, I agree on character counts. But I am a school board member and my wife is a teacher in a school that totally defies your description of American schools. We are in the business of educating the next generation of responsible citizens and doing a darn good job of it. And I know of many more doing the same. If your school district is failing, I challenge you to step up and be part of the solution rather than demanding change on a tractor forum. Sorry for the rant but I'm weary of people trash talking our schools that are, for the most part, doing a good job. Arvin DeBoef (not ashamed to sign my name to this)

Hi Mr. DeBoef. I fully agree with you about our schools. I live in Marquisville, an 'unincorporated' village in Polk County between Des Moines and Ankeny. Our Grandson graduated last Sunday with 95 of his classmates, so as you can see, we're a small district. Nice thing about being small is we know every school board member, the school Principals and Superintendent. My wife worked there for 32 years as a 'Lunch Lady', retiring as Kitchen Manager. She has no degree, but between you and I, I believe the Custodians and lunchroom workers have a better handle on the day to day goings on than the individual teachers. The child that needs to see a smiling face or even a hug is SO important, and these people care. We're all neighbors; the unfortunate reality is our small district has become a 'stepping stone' for newly graduated teachers so there isn't the continuation of people as they move to more lucrative teaching positions elsewhere.

I'm with you on that ADB ....... a friend of mine years back used to say that everyone is an expert on teaching and education because everyone went to school so they know all about it. I think the schools are doing just fine and in a lot more difficult times than what used to be.

The problem is teachers telling kids their opinions. My daughter is in excellerated class and one teacher gave her crap because she wore her ffa jacket and told the class farmers are polluting the earth. I guess she let him have it!

Did you go to the same school as your daughter where they taught you that "excellerated" is a word? LOL. Anyway, the teacher isn't wrong especially when it comes to water pollution.
