Most farmers disk before they plant.
This year a few farmers did nothing. They planted at an angle to the old rows. No till is a first I've seen in my neighborhood.
Is planting at an angle common for no till?

My 15 beans go between the old corn rows, corn just follows the contours the best I can. No tilled everything into standing rye this spring, sprayed a week later. Got 2' of beautiful rain last three days.

Neighbor planted no till corn this year into soy bean stubble. He was at a slight angle to last yrs rows. Doing 16 rows at a pass covers ground fast. I think he sprayed several times, before planting, no weeds anywhere in field.

it seems very little tillage done here anymore lots of vertical or no-till corn beans rotate usually about 50-50 mix.
tillage that is done is on ground that was in rye for silage then goes into corn

Here in central KS wheat, milo, and soybeans just go in the same way. Some have air seeders and some don't.

The fellow that rents our crop ground started doing some no-till a couple of years ago. He's gone 100% no-til this year for corn and beans. Does not plant at an angle.
