Tire size information needed

I have a John Deere model B that needs new rear tires.
The tires now on it are Goodyear, they have small numbers of 11.25-24 and then in larger print has 13-24 above it. I would like the tire size with the same profile. The rim is about 10 inside dimension. One website said the new size would be 14.9-24. Just trying to find the correct tires.

The 13-24 is the old tire size numbers and the new one would be the 11.25X24. 14.9X24 would be to wide for your 10 inch wide rim. 11.25 or 12.4 would be the correct size for that rim

In this case I believe the 11.25-24 refers to the recommend rim size for the 13-24 tire.

Just looking at those tires, there is no way they are 11.2x24's I have 11.2x24's on my Super A and these have a lot more meat on them.

He will be disappointed with 11.2x24's on this tractor.

He may be disappointed with modern 14.9x24's as the cheaper offshore brands tend to be slightly undersized.

Barnyard has it right the tie size of 13X24 is now the 13.6 or 14.9 X24. The 11.25X24 is the rim size as in 11.25 inches wide and 24 inch diameter

Thanks everyone, I will start shopping now for new ones. I want the same size because I have a set of tire chains for them, I will probably never use them but I still want them to fit.

I can't tell from the picture, but the tractor appears to be an A, not a B with cut-down rear wheels. Normally a cut-down wheel would have a 36
or 38 diameter rim, not 24. I don't know why the 24 rim was used, maybe what was available.

This is a Model B, It was my Grandfathers I Dont know why they put 24 inch rims on this tractor but we used it for hauling logs out of some pretty steep hills and hollers and the low center of gravity really helped. And with the smaller tires The tractor had more power. And when we put the tire chains on the rear tires it could go just about anywhere.

What year is it?? I have my grand fathers 1935 JD B. I also have the owners/op manual that came with it when new. It sits on the original steel wheels. I can remember playing on it when we would visit them in OK

That's as good of a reason as any.

I really like the look too.

I had never seen that size tire on a B either. But it obviously worked for them. Kudos to you for wanting to keep it the same way that Grandpa had it!
