Have a mixed grass alfalfa field. Probably 20% alfalfa at this point, but has about the same amount of clover, which I understand adds N as well.
So my question is what percentage of the field needs to be alf, (or clover), to keep N levels up?
We're already getting a soil sample just before cutting to see how much to apply, (none has been for at least 3 years), after our first cut. Started getting samples last year and added B, P, and maybe something else, and those levels are now pretty good. Interested to see changes from last sample during summer to now, though.
Best application for hayfields? Liquid vs granular?
Very much appreciate everyone's input.
