I really need to invest in a sand blaster that is a slick way to clean up rims for paint . It really knocks the rust off and smoothed off a lot of the pitting. The duals are assembled now I just need to go get em and put them on

If you invest in a 'pot' type blaster setup (which I have - a small one dedicated to wheel rims), my best recommendation is get a REALLY big compressor. My unit isn't, but I learned the 'work around'. Another tip is put plastic or a tarp under your item to save some of the media. HTH

We use a commercial shot blasting place to get our's done. They use steel shot and it runs around $50 a wheel to get it done.

This may not apply in your less humid area but in order to keep my sandblasting helmet/hood from fogging up and to cool me, I put a T with a valve to control flow, in the air line. It's plumbed up under the rear of the hood and makes all the difference in being able to see and stay cool on a hot day. I have to wear reading glasses to see what I'm doing so it helps double duty in that respect.
