Ram million mile warranty.

IMO it is a calculated gamble that Ram knows that very few will come calling on it. In the salt belt those trucks will be gone by 250,000 miles. Overall manufacturers understand human ego and the need for a person to have the newest and not be caught with the oldest. Is the warranty transferable or does it die after the first owner sells the truck?

My guess is it's like the lifetime warranty some dealers have. You pay for another vehicle just on required maintenance stuff. My friend has that on a Nissan. She's had the cabin air filter replaced 5 times in 100,000 miles at $75 a pop. Key fob battery $20 every other oil change. Numerous other items. She called it quits when they told her it was going to be $1,800 to change the antifreeze, power steering fluid and transmission fluid.

Unless they are made a whole lot heavier than the ones I see the sheet iron will be rotted off long before the million miles will be reached. I don't think most people realize just how long and many mile it takes to make a million miles. I used to run over a 100,000 miles per year on a semi it took about 10 years to reach a million miles and there is visible wear on things even with plenty of grease and oil. It got greased every week during it's over the road time. So about every 2-3000 miles.

This is not Chrysler first rodeo they have offed lifetime warranty's before. Years back the maintenance schedule on them was priced out of the world on things like change the differential fluid etc every 15K at $800 up. Folks would stop by and ask what I charged I could do it for haft that and make good money at it to boot...

Domestic manufactures have had a hard time getting costumes to follow a maintenance schedule. Foreign manufactures do a better job are have a following that go by the schedule better. For me Subaru owners are the best at it : ) They love their Subaru and treat it well so well its not uncommon for them to keep two in stock. : ) : ) : )
