Hello! My name is Kyle, I am new to the forum. I recently found in a old farm dump a Syracuse plow. Looks to be double sided. Looks to be old original red paint. It is marked on the plow part of it...
CT8
4-1880
RH

Im looking for any info such as age, ECT. Is the 1880 mark the year? Thanks for any info on this

There's lots of information to be found searching the 'net for Syracuse Chilled Plow Co. John Deere bought them. It looks like there's a JD on your part. That's not the plow bottom. It's the jointer. Sort of a coverboard.

I believe that part you found is like a coulter and it breaks the soil up a bit ahead of the plow bottom.

I posted to your post on the implement forum but I will post here too. It is a frame mounted jointer. I am attaching a picture of a coulter mounted variant but it functions basically the same way as yours.
