OT:Stihl 800 blower bogs down when hot

At my work we have a one year old Stihl BR800 backpack blower. It is a four mix engine, not a two stroke but uses mix fuel. It starts and runs good for about 5 mins then gradually slows down in rpm going slower and slower and then when you trigger it I will stall. I have checked the obvious: plug-new, air cleaner-new, fuel filter-new, burned off carbon on muffler screen blown out fuel lines, tried adjusting mix up and down. Fuel is fresh and mixed to Stihl 50:1 requirement. Your thoughts?

Check the valve clearance. We used these at the golf course where I worked and they would act like that when the valves got too tight. The valve clearances are very small and when it gets hot they will close up.

I've had br600's with similar symptoms. Not reving up seemingly fuel related. More than once it's turned out to be the ignition coil. I guess the Rev limiter in them went wonky and all they would do is idle.

I'm not sure how you could prove or disprove short of swapping in a known good coil.

Is it possible your fuel tank went is plugged?

I have a Stihl blower and mine done the same thing.. was blowing stuff out of the exhaust.. my buddy told how to cure that...took out the exhaust screen and cut the end off of it.... I did and never had any more issues with it..In fact, runs better now than it ever did with more power..! let us know how you make out with it... hope it does the trick..

Check the cam. I have had one go flat from the owner not putting oil in the fuel - 4 cycle - oil?? I also had a straight-shaft trimmer do that. Found out the holes that the cam and rocker arms pins go in were ovaled, causing some strange behavior. Put bushings in the holes and back to normal operation. zuhnc
