Last fall my neighbors ZTR caught on fire during his last seasonal mowing. He settled with his insurance and kicked it aside. This spring he asked me if I wanted if before he hauled it to the scrap yard (you guessed it). I've got about 60 hrs and a bunch of repairing, replacing and re engineering into it, but it lives to fight another day.

One of my being retired side jobs is maintaining a large property for a lady. She has two Bad Boy mowers, a 5 foot and a 6 foot. I find them to be a very nice, well built, and easy to operate. There is a road ditch bank that is very steep, I have to hook my uphill arm around the arm rest and brace myself with my down hill foot, it handles it very well. You did good.

2011. I'm pretty sure lack of cooling air caused the valve cover gaskets to get hard and drip oil on to the exhaust. I would recommend removing the shroud and blowing the heads out real well. When we got the burnt shroud off, the cooling fins were packed solid with debris. This was so bad we had to remove the metal deflectors and dig with a screw driver to clean them.
