Ford 2000 lift controls

I have a ford 2000 and lift control will not move up or down. It is about half way up. If you pull up on it hard it moves a little and the lift arms come up but when you let go the control springs back and the lift arms drop. I now have the lift cover off but I don't think I can make any adjustments until I get the control to move. If I flip the draft control down the control handle will move freely about an inch.

Mine took heat and atf to get it apart and
free. Had it locked in a vise. Took about
an hour. Heat, spray, wiggle, repeat. One
shaft is hollow and the other goes through
it.

So I need to go ahead and try and get the linkage apart. Just going to need to work at it a little harder I thought that was where the problem was I wasn't sure. Thanks

On a 2000 you should have a single lever with a smaller selector lever to
allow you to select Draft or Position control. The 2600 has two seperate
levers for these functions.

If you have a 2000, the shaft from the lever to the control valve linkage
can seize in the tube. As already suggested you will need to remove the
lever and quadrant, removing the ram cylinder and the control linkage will
allow you enough room to work to free things off.

The other are you may have a seizure is in the control valve. This is the
valve at the top of the ram cylinder if you have the lift off and laying
on its back. If you disconnect the linkage by removing the pin and short,
adjustable link that goes into the valve it will enable you to tell whether
it is the linkage or the valve.

I have had this problem before and sorted out a number for customers, try
not to use excessive force especially on the valve itself as this is a
precision made item and easy to mess up. If it has rust on it, do not use
any form of abrasive to clean it, use a good quality metal polish.
