My MF lift pump was bad, and added about 4-5 qts in my clean just changed oil. Five qts of 15 40. Can I add a small amount in my tank and use it up, rather than dump it into it a recycle tank? Stan

I do not see why not to add it to the fuel tank. If people will add old dirty engine oil to diesel fuel, clean engine oil would be an upgrade. I can not tell you the recommended dilution rate though.

I ran 100% filtered, used ATF in my 1960 Case 930 for a few years. Never had any problem. Your 50/50 mix should work fine.

I would find a better use than that.

Save it for the gear case if it's just gears and no wet brakes or clutches. It will be fine.

I had a Deere 2510 gas lift pump do the same thing. Drained 4 gallons out of an engine that holds 7 qt of oil. I strained it through a paint strainer and put it back in the tank. Tractor did seem to smoke a little at idle but was fine other than that. Tractor had less than 5 hours on an oil change. Tom

Dump it in the tank. used to be common practice to put used motor oil in the diesel tank and burn it. Don't do it with new electronic diesels though.

My old oil is applied to trailer deck. First time it took 5 gallons. Second time 2 gallons.
When it gets hot and dry I plan to apply more oil. Wood soaks it up and it's not slick or oily

I do that to my trailer once a year. Neighbor came over and was talking to me and sat on the trailer a couple of weeks after I oiled it. When he got up his butt was black. He don't sit on my trailer any more. Hope he didn't go home a sit on the couch.

There was a pump that automatically sucked a gallon out of road trucks and then pumped a gallon of new oil back in. The rules for red off road diesel killed it. When the dipped your fuel tank they tested it for what I don't remember what, but the used oil tested the same as the red dye(without the color.) An old boss of mine had a truck got stopped and tested,he was looking at a $2,000.oo dollar fine. He passed away before I heard how it came out. the truck had a welded drain plug in it. ( old CRST truck)
