I can't find where to put this

I got a new computer and want to add this account...in addition to my existing computer on which I am typing this request. Just like happened years ago when I had to add the 1 to my Logo because I forgot the PW, It's been years and I have no idea as to what it is.

How do I recover it so that I can use this www on that machine?

Thanks,
Mark

Go to the forum on the new computer and sign in with your username "Texasmark1" and your password.

If you don't know your password, you can click "forgot my password" at the sign-in page. The site will send you an email with a way to reset your password. Once you reset your password you will have to sign in on BOTH computers with the new password. Write your password down and put it somewhere safe. I know they say don't write your password down but as long as this is the only site you use it on, the "bad guys" can't do much with it except post nonsense in your name. Plus the bad guys are far more likely to capture your password from the Internet than they are to find that slip of paper on the refrigerator door.

If you don't have an email, maybe the site admin can help...

On your old computer there is a file with the passwords
in Firefox it is under options. Im sure other browsers have the same somewhere

On chrome it is under settings-> passwords

If you do not have the computer save your password then you have to type it in every time you come here and would likely remember it, so I bet the browser has it available.

TexasMark,

You can scroll down the left side of the site to find Feedback Form left side of your computer screen and click on that. It will open a form where you can email the moderator.

Through email, they can either tell you your password or help you reset a new password so that you can log-in to YT on your new device.

If you get a new password, it would be applicable to both your old and new devices... even if you start using a smartphone, that would then be your password for YT on all of your devices.

see that you have received the help that you need. In the future you might want to get/use KeyPass. It means you only need to remember one password & it provides access to all your other passwords. Encrypted, secure, free & really useful tool. Easy to use.

If you post from Classic you essentially do not need a password. Only when you create your user name was the password required. At least that is what I find. Whenever I choose to post in Modern which is rare, then I get asked for my password.

We have a folder saved that is called(--your description--) document has information like passwords etc. and we save it to that. Save it to a thumb drive that you up date and then when needed you have a place to get that information from. It is getting harder to remember logins as we have too many.

I'm an old school classic guy 95% of the time. I was in classic and it wanted my private information.

I have that on my imacs but it doesn't give the private information, it just tells you where you need it.

That's what I wanted...access to a moderator. Thanks Course I could commit a No No and get their attention. Grin

Thanks for the tip. On the Thumb Drive, I recently have had the opportunity to use a couple of them and called them the little gadgets/dodads you plug into your USB port on your computer. I just installed a High Sierra OSX from one and it had a whole operating system that took an hour to install. Technology today absolutely blows me away....I retired at the right time as I was old school...transistors and all and I have a flip phone because I don't want to learn how to run a fancy doo day everybody has these days.......grin. Well that's part of the reason, the other is my $24 a month Consumer Cellular bill.

Great advice JMOR. Far more secure than writing them down.
That one password to access the password management system can
also be provided to the executor of an estate as well, for when needed.
It is a good idea to back it up regularly in case of a hardware failure.
