New generation hood

Wow, seems pricey but I paid $150 for a plastic hood for an older model Craftsman riding mower. I wanted it, I paid up.

Im going to start emailing salvage yards see what they have . Sent new parris an email see what their hood is

Yours is very fixable. It will cost some to do, but will be cheaper than the new one, plus freight, plus paint. And it will likely fit better than the reproduction.

You'd better touch it and feel it before you buy it. Reproduction sheet metal can be a real disappointment if it's poor quality and doesn't fit.

I'll bang out the old one for that money and save you a bunch of cash. I'm in MI though so would have to ship or bring to me. I would love a return trip to ID though. Just not right now with planting.

Most of us DIY folks know how we want it to look and try make the finished product as close as possible. What if you had no hood at all.

Do you have any Tech schools in the area? Find a school with an auto body class you prolly get it fixed for the cost of material. I graduated from body school 24 years ago and we were always looking for something like that to world on, most people would bring up an old car that had been sitting in the trees from 50 years and expect us to fix it for them. This would be a perfect job for a student! And yes that is an easy fix.
