3 point hitch issues

Just bought a Massey Ferguson front end loader but the 3 point hitch doesnt work and the speed control for is doesnt feel like its hooked up anymore.. the arms lift up and down manually freely.. any ideas ??[/list]
 
The 231 Massey I had you could not use the three point and the remote at the same time. It had a
lever under the seat that you would move one way for the 3 point and the other way for the remote.
I've seen a similar set up on other tractors. Maybe the same with your Massey.
 
i think its a 20 industrial but no one seems to know that Ive talked to. Looks like it was yellow originally.
 
Is the loader running off the belly pump?

Or perhaps a set of remotes?

If so there is a lever to switch between 3 point and other hyd outputs.

Look on top of the cover under the seat.

he loader does run off the belly pump! I just looked under the seat there was nothing.. there is a lever on the left side that engauges the pto and the right side is draft control.. thats all I could see!
 
I have a MF135 and it developed a similar issue. I agree with the others, check those items
first. But my handle just seemed to be floating like it was disconnected. It turned out
the shaft from handle to inside the case was rusted/broken off just under the shield.
Just removed the parts, welded it up and has been fine for the past ten years
