Tom's post got me thinking... and I found these pics of shelling at my father-in-law's back in 2007.

Wow,that crib was made out of pierced aluminum planking? What ever it is looks good, and that sheller looks like its got a long sheller unit on it doing a nice job !

It looks like that No.6 is really shelling the corn. I figure mine did about 200 bu per hour. I wish I could have got one with the extra drags and drives for them. Tom

We went to an auction last year that had a pierced-aluminum building broke down into pieces. At first I thought they wouldn't be able to give it away. Then the bidding went kinda wild. Don't know where it stopped, but seems I remember that it seemed pretty darn cheap.

Great pics... Brings back memories because husband always cribbed/shelled corn up until we started renting out our farmland about 15 years ago.

Sure do not miss the corn husk mess in our yard though. :)

Tom, I'm told you really had to keep it full to get all the corn off the cob. We filled 4 wagons in about an hour and 10 minutes, including some down time to switch wagons. As for the drags, this crib has them built in, and there is a John Deere stub end that goes against the cribs. If you look closely, the drive from the sheller isn't being used... it's run by a hydraulic motor. Father in law has 3 drive through cribs... one needs drags, others are built in.
