I am thinking about buying myself a new toy
I have saved some funds and looking at a New Skid Steer
not a big one just a simple good machine.
what would all of you purchase
Thoughts Please

Cat has the best resale value if you ever get tired of your toy. Case makes decent machines if you want to save a few bucks.

Beagle

In my area case has the reputation for being the best. And resale value goes with that. Especially those 1845 models.

CAT skids have never brought even close tot he trade in value of others like Bob Cat and Case,, but the ones from Case today are not the machine a 1845 was,, the New DL550 I am waiting to try out though,, I was the one who talked to Case and got them to bring out my idea of a REAL skid loader

The Bobcat tractor is a lot easier to get off and on,than any skid steer, and it will lift as much, and doesn't tear the yard up! Same qucik attach buckets fit both ! There ere 3 new Catipilars in my area, but there 50,000 they tell me!

Thanks for asking but you will get a lot of brand bias opinions on here. If I may make a suggestion? Since you already said you want a new one, go to each dealer, Bobcat, Case, Cat, etc. besides comparing price, get in and try them out. I mean drive them around and multi control the lift. Which one can you operate without thinking? Which one is easiest to get in and out of? Which is the most comfortable? Compare creature comforts, seat comfort/adjustments, ride, sound proofing, radio, heat/ac, lights, lift height, track vs tires, in cab quick tach control, dealer shop/parts, etc. Standard lift/bucket controls on a Bobcat are foot pedals, on a Cat joy stick, standard drive controls on a Bobcat are 2 levers, on a Cat joy stick, Case I dont recall. If you are already a seasoned operator, I go with the system you are most experienced with. You can get nonstandard controls but that usually adds to the price. What I am saying is, they will all dig a hole and move material, so get the one that has the best support in you area and/or is easiest for you to get in & out of and operate. IIMHO if you are of the median YT age (mid 60s) resale is not a consideration?

Personally, I have trouble climbing in and out ,so I would look at a JCB with the side opening door and consider the extendable boom (available with the single lift arm). No others have these features.

Over the last 40 years I have had a lot of different skid steers and hands down I found the Case 1845C to be the best machine, but now an 1845 C id going on 30 years old. If buying new therte would be no question , it wiould ne a Bobcat brand

In 2015 Bobcat dropped the Kubota engines & are now using Doosan. That is something that would concern me. but your $$$.

Thanks everyone
In my area all brands are scarce so it hard to drive around and compare.
and some dealers will not even answer my Emails
I have got prices on 3 Gehl , Case and New Holland
the Gehl seems to be the best one so far.
