Best $1k I've spent was taking my new 2007 GMC to Z tech and having it under coated, sprayed bed liner and a wax job before taking truck home.

Have you read your owner's manual? Undercoating some GM vehicles voids the rust through warranty.

Just sayin'.

Goose ...... I can believe that. I have often thought that a lot of the undercoating, especially the thicker coatings applied at the immediate bottom surface of the vehicles, serves little to prevent rust, and it just ends up being the source of another moisture trap and we know what that results in.

Not defending undercoating, but GM in general, and rust through in particular, is a sick joke. And now GM thinks they can make a successful electric vehicle? They still cannot keep both headlights on at the same time. A GM electric is another joke.

Have you ever tried to get a claim on the rust thru warranty ? They all say it started from the outside. And deny it.

(quoted from post at 12:52:59 04/18/21) In highschool I helped a friend tune up his Chevy c10. This made it run great....until it burned all the carbon out then it never ran again. Should have left it, might have got a few more years out of it.

I've read some odd stuff here. That one is right up there.

When I was with GM, an elderly lady bought a new car, and an overly ambitious salesman talked her into having it undercoated.

A couple of days later, the lady came back and showed the salesman the line in her owner's manual that said undercoating voided the rust through warranty.

All they could do was refund the price of the undercoating and give the lady another new car. Don't know what they did with the car that had been undercoated. It disappeared, probably to someone unsuspecting on the dealer's auction.
