That's beautiful, a real gem. First snowmobile I ever rode ,winter of 64-65 was a Polaris that would be a match to that. I thought it looked like a section of grain elevator upside down with skis. and a engine in back like that.

Nice! My uncle had one like that that we used to pull our shanties out and check tip-ups with while ice fishing on Fletcher's Floodwaters.

I once drove a little yellow Artic Cat Pony... into the broadside of a barn. LOL

I was only 9 and it was my first driving experience - my brother-in-law is the one who parked it aimed at the barn only 4 feet away, then turned me loose.

That's impressive.

A nearby electric company has some old Polaris machines in their offices -- which makes sense as the Polaris plant is located in the same town; Roseau, MN.

A couple of guys started Polaris in the 50's (even made straw choppers for combines). One of the guys broke with Polaris and started Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls around 1962 or 63. They were at first called Polar then changed to Arctic Cat. Early ones had the polar bear on the side as does this one. Same guy invented ASV compact track loaders before he died.
