My wife trying out the cub. We like it for the garden. In fact,we sold the ford plows and will use the cub from now on. Fords are headed to the hay field.....

my other favorite, plowing with a JD friend after a plow day and everyone else went home.

one year, the timing for plow day didn't work out, so I had my own lineup. 560D/4bottom, 560G/3 bottom FH, 504/3btm trailer, 200/2btm FH, 1926 Regular/2btm Little Genius

Shots here of me getting my 403 Case two-way disc plow setup and plowing a virgin bottom area/old lake bed, the 970 was super over kill on power,, but I like the cab and I did not have any smaller ones weighted enough to hold the front end straight in the conditions,, the bottom ground I had to run at just above a idle anyway as it was tearing out chunks took a while to plow the 10 plus acre field

I have ploughed once or twice
cvphoto84286.jpg

Its usually cold when I plough
cvphoto84287.jpg

Not ploughing as many acres as I used to. Have moved to planting wheat in corn silage stubble, and cut out other grain crops I used to grow for straw

My IH 300 utility, spring of 2020. Might be last time I plow a field. Plowing was always one of my favorite jobs, but we no longer grow tobacco, and this was after an ill fated crop of CBD hemp. I replanted the field back into hay.
On a side note I first plowed with this tractor when I was 7 or 8 yrs old. I'm 64 now. Mark.

Probably one of the worst jobs of plowing ever. I plowed the garden last fall with a Dearborn plow I just bought a month or so before. I just couldn't seem to get it adjusted right before I got done.

Majorman....I really like the way your plow cuts. Nice and deep. A real clean cut. Thanks for posting. Wingnut

lot of fun and comraderie.

The two fellows in the background of the first picture remind me so much of the classic photo of two elderly farmers titled you've been farming long?

Ben

I think there is a LOT more plowing being done south of the 49th than north of it. Maybe some of the Canadians can comment on that observation.

I'm Canadian and I'm south of the 49th parallel...and so are a few other Ontarians on this site. Normally I don't plow any, but I leave about7 or 8 acres for our annual antique plow day.

Ben

ahhh I mistook what you said I see you just did not have them for that plow,, I was sure racking my brain as to what reason they would have not to want a colter used,, sorry for the confusion on my part

The grass went through and buried nice but there was a nasty crop of morning glory underneath and it wouldnt go through

But we should be happy not making anything so long as the Tyson ceo and executives cam make there yacht payments

They definitely dug in and made the tractor work for a bit. Weather hasn't cooperated the past few years and this was the first time the garden was plowed in a while. That ground was hard as a rock. It sure worked up nice this week though.
