Tracy Brown dropped off my new toy. It's a Ford! Gonna take a little getting used to! My wife may have already claimed it

Backhoe

Grandpa

You and Grandma will really like that one. You will throw away your shovel and wonder how you ever did things without it!

Youll love having that thing around now you can start another side business
Love & Love
Custom cubs , used parts , custom tractor painting , backhoe service , used building materials , we build decks fence and nativity scenes , t shirts decals and tattoos , we also deal in all things Ford . We dont rent pigs

They come in handy and if you learn to operate it well you can turn it a full 360 using the backhoe plus a lot of other things. Done that type of thing many times with backhoes

You will like it and wonder how you got along without one for so long. You probably know this already but with a backhoe it is more important than ever to Call Before You Dig. If you have not operated a backhoe before, you may want to consider the following: take it to the back 40 and play. Make sure no one within the reach of the boom while you are getting the feel for the hoe. Practice until you can dig with out thinking about the controls. Stay out of deep holes that can cave in on you. If you must get in the hole, make sure it is shored up or widen the hole at a 45* slope so it can't cave in. A grease gun is a backhoe's friend. Grease all the bucket and pivot pins at least once a day when in use. Be safe and have fun.

the next thing you know Mrs. will be thinking you can dig a basement to add on the room she needs wants

At least you bought a 4 stick rather than one of those 3 stick Case jobs.
Dang I hate them things.

Best advise I can give to you is read Tony's post over and over till you know every word by heart.
And follow them.
A backhoe is nice but can get you in a lot of trouble if you are not careful especially from someone that thinks he knows how to operate one.

Tony, all good advice, thank you. We always call before we dig, deck footings or fence posts. Plan to learn the controls way off in the back 40. No detail work for a while! Wife is a little scared of it..... I may be too! Lol

And have good insurance. I know a couple of guys that build homes. They bought a brand new mini-x. One guy was digging in a water line and hit a buried power line. The power line was just put in so it wasnt a secret where it was. Again, have good insurance.

That is a good size bucket on the back.
Your Massey loader tractor just lost work. It will be lonesome.
Very handy addition.

LIKE! : ) it takes awhile once you get the feel on how to feather the control's you will be off and running. Some folks just have it in their blood my son jumped on one and was off and running.

Yup, 4500. I have one of those. Serious digging machine. At least the early ones, maybe yours too, had more hydraulic power than their frames could handle. Mine has patches all over from the strain. Hard to see but yours looks to have cracks starting in the boom just above where the 2 cylinders meet. Very common. I've used later model Fords that were even a bit bigger and they don't dig as well (felt like reduced hydraulic power to keep the frame intact). Some like the 4 hoe levers, some don't. I converted mine to a 2 lever JD type setup.

Could have used that the last few days.
Now you can fix a trench to prevent water from heading to your barn, shop.
