Axle mount duals for Allis 7020

Would axle mount duals from an Allis 7080 work on my 7020? I do not have long axles...radial tires are moved in as close as I like. The duals are bias tires. Will they work? I had band duals for years BUT I had to have a rim replaced for my new tires and the bevel is not letting me bottom out. Just looking for ideas. Thanks

I would not put bias tires on as duals beside radials. If the axle size is the sme,and you have enough axle sticking out,no problem. You say the bevel wont let the ring seat properly. Why? are they power adjustable? If so,then the spacer ring needs to be notched.I cannot think of any other reason why a clamp on dual wont fit.

Youll get a more definitive answer on the allis chalmers forum; but I think I read where the 7080 used a larger diameter axle than the 7040 and smaller 7000 series tractors.

Band duals have been on for years. I had to have a new rim installed when I had tires replaced. I had a dual get away from me, I had it close, pulled the bolts tight. I'm going to grind, cut slots if they are different size axles. Thanks

What difference does it make mixing bias with radials for duals? I know it's not "ideal" but most folks aren't made of money and just can't justify putting a new set of radials on for duals that are only used for flotation during tillage.

You got a nice set of radials for primary tires and an old bald set of bias plies for duals. They're not going to "grab" more than the radials. Most of the time they don't even touch the ground on hard ground.
