How's come as m I the only one that can't keep a neat barn yours looks great and neat stuff in it

Outstanding collection. Read where the JD 4430 Hi-crop posted below is fairly rare. Not known exactly how many there were. Way back In the forum archives a gentleman who worked at Deere said he estimated there were about 384 hi-crops made within the JD 4000 series. How many have survived to 2021. This gentleman's orchard models appear to be originals and would be pretty rare also.

How exactly does that work? Does it swivel like a backhoe or do you lower it and back into pile then raise and backup to spreader and dump?

From the pictures that I have seen, manure was piled up over the winter. You parked the tractor close to the pile, the beam was lowered by cable and then another cable pulled the bucket into the pile. Raise the boom and swing it over the spreader to dump and then swing back into place, lower the boom and pull bucket back into the plie and repeat process. As you cleaned up the pile, you had to move the tractor closer to the pile. Awful slow, but it was better than loading the spreader by hand!!
