880 Oliver Hydraulic Spool

I have a 1959 880 Oliver (gas) that has live hydraulics. Lately I have noticed the right side hydraulic spool is not holding my loader bucket up regardless if the tractor is running at a higher speed, idling, or not running. In the past it did but slowly over time the bucket drops and it seems to be getting worse.

I have been looking for a parts scheme on the hydraulic spool to try and trouble shoot if there is a part (possibly a spring, etc.) that is worn and in need of replacement.

Please note the left side which I use to raise and lower the loader works fine. The pump and pressure relive values are fine too and I am able to lift heavy loads, which is why i believe the problem I am having is isolated to the right hydraulic spool. Looking for help troubleshooting. Thanks

If you mean the curl of the bucket, have you checked the hydraulic cylinder(s) for internal leakage past the piston?

I would test the cylinders first. Far more likely to be a cylinder
leaking than the valve.

Good suggestion on the bucket cylinders. Prior to my original post though I did test them. I have a value between the spool and bucket cylinders that I can use to have the hydraulic oil go to either the bucket cylinders or the back of the tractor cylinder hookups that I use for implements such as my disk, corn planter, etc.

I tested the bucket cylinders by flipping the value to the implement cylinders and when I do, this closes the bucket hose lines. When I did this the bucket remained in the up position. So I based on the test I did, I don't think the issue I am having is with the bucket cylinders. Do you agree with the way I tested the bucket cylinders? If there is a better way, please let me know.

Mt phone # is 715 573-1659. Thanks

Sorry, I miss-typed my phone number. This is what I get for attempting to do this from my phone. The correct phone number is 75 573-1650.
