Very true. Most people probably don't take expansion into consideration with very precise measurements

When I took surveying in college we were still using steel tape measures. All measurements had to be adjusted for temperature.

When I first got these the delivery left them on the porch and when I brought them in I messed with them throughout the day and as they got warmer the readings kept changing . It Took a whole day before they would hold a measurement
