Jaques Frazer Model T Tractor

Hello All,

My sons and I will be starting a new project. It is a Jaques Frazer Model T Tractor. It is in pretty good shape but hasn't run for at least 35 years. I see its missing the clutch pedal and linkage so that will likely have to be fabricated. Someone previously rigged up a fuel tank and hood from other tractors but I've since acquired an original tank.
The history of these tractors can be found on the web. This version was made for one year, then became the Jaques Mighty Mite, then the Ottawa Mule Team, also cool rare tractors.

My neighbor had a Jaques Frazer tractor.

It sold at a farm sale 3 or 4 years ago after he passed.

It had been retrofitted with a Crosley 4 cylinder OHC engine and transmission and rather well done. It even had the Crosley dash with gauges.

The engine was complete but did not run. I had tinkered with it before and believe it was out of cam timing.

I was interested in the Crosley engine but did not buy it because I did not need another project.

IIRC, it sold for $750.

(quoted from post at 15:39:20 03/09/21) That's a neat little tractor! Looks somewhat like an Economy tractor. What engine is in it?

Its a 2 cycle 1 cylinder simar or something like that.

Iloydford9n..... Turns out I too have a Jaques Mighty Might. Looks all original to me except the color. Motor is loose. Doesn't run. A project in the wait.
Took a JD 435 Diesel partially apart for repaint so that's next, then redo a JD "H"but it's loose, then the Mighty Might. Could be a while but we are
excited to show it later. Not everyday you see one. Best regards, Wingnut

Looks good Wingnut! I too am not diving in right away, as much as I would like too (and I keep finding reasons to return to the garage these days!). I have to build a suite over my garage first. The goal is to be done by late summer so we can have a renter by then.

I would be most grateful if you could take some pictures of your clutch pedal and linkage assembly for me on that Mighty Mite. My jaques came without it.

The plan is also to do this up nice for show at fairs. There is also a historical horticultural society museum here in Victoria, b as well.

Will do on the pics. May take a few weeks I live in SETX and my projects are in in SWLA about 75 miles away. Next time I'm down there I'll fix you up.
Regards.... Wingnut

Thanks so much. Please don't go out of your way though! Have a great day!

There are three tractor families built off this same chassis: The Jaques Power Saw company out of Denison Texas manufactured their own Mighty Mite line of tractors, and they supplied the rolling chassis for the Frazer Model T that Lloyd has and when they experienced financial issues, they sold the entire line to the Ottawa company which for a brief time continued making a whole series of models on that same chassis.
The Frazer Model T uses the same Swiss Simar 2 stroke engine used on the yellow Frazer Rototiller B1-6 and B1-7 tillers. It is the most rare of the three types (Jaques Mighty Mite, Frazer Model T and Ottawa)

What you have is a Jaques Mighty Mite model 10. There are two models of Mighty Mite: Model MM and Model 10. The MM's came first and used a Ford Banjo rear end. The Model 10 used the rear end as in yours (with the two rectangular notches on the rear). Like all tractors from the Jaques family - they are relatively rare.

Dean - The Jaques Power Saw Company did very briefly make a tractor that utilized a Crosley engine called the "Farm King". It had a different hood from the Mighty Mite: where the Mighty Mite's hood is angular, the Farm King used a bubble like hood, had an electric start. At a quick glance the Farm King looks like the Mighty MitesOttawasFrazers, however where all three of those used a U channel frame with the ends of the U facing out, The Jaques Farm King was slightly wider and had a u-channel frame where the flat smooth side faced out. The Farm Kings are wildly rare. I have seen pictures of maybe eight or ten examples ever. (in comparison there were 250 Ottawas produced and at least 70+ are documented to still exist; there was maybe 1,000-1,500 Frazer Model T's produced, and there at least 2,500+ Mighty Mites produced, with probably several hundred still existing)

For those who have these tractors or are interested in them, there is a great Facebook page called: "Jaques Mighty Mite - Frazer - Ottawa Mule Team - National Farm King Tractor" that has an active and knowledgable member base.
