Put the 193 plow on crispy yesterday, boy
did we struggle. Ground ain't that hard.
But couldn't get it to dig in. Wife had
to stand on it to get it started then it
did fine. After a lot of tinkering we got
it to do better. We also have a belly
disc plow. Will swap to that today and
see which one we like better.

On the Super As with the similar plough there is a link from the hydraulics down to the front of the drawbar to adjust the height which makes a big difference in getting the plough in the ground. I dont know if the cub is supposed to have something similar.

With a plow share like that it should go in the ground . Doesnt look like there is any adjustment to drop the left to right or front to back

I was never could get the one I had to work to my satisfaction I will admit I was not patient not educated on the mater at the time...

I went to a plow event a guy had a belly/disc he let me make a round I was impressed how nice it plowed.

Take the plow on a piece of thick plywood or cement floor an see if the point of the plow has a bent down slightly. The one on my 39H was stright out and would not go in the ground on less some one had started plowing then it would work good. A old guy seen that I was having trouble getting it to start out plowing and told me that eather sharpen the point or heat it up and bend it down some. I didn't want to do that so I ran 3 to 4 beads of weld on the point then ground it so it pointed down sharp. Works good now.

I agree, it needs an adjustment to change the angle front to back. This little plow on the Simplicity adjusts and works fine.

Hi Grandpa, I do a lot of copetitive plowing here in the UK with aIH B250 tractor and a IH B12 two bottom plow plowing two 10inch wide furrows 6inches deep. To keep a uniform depth i put two 56lb weights and two B414 tractor flywheels on the plow so Iwould try some more weight on the plow. MJ.

The length of the link from the handle to the drawbar controls how much the front of the plow tilts toward the earth. I ended up making the link a little longer even though it was in the top hole. Also it looks as though the lift chain in the rear is too short. It should have slack till it reaches the depth you desire. The first pass is difficult to get the depth you need. After the tire runs in the furrow it should work well. You should have to move the depth control lever towards the rear after the first pass.

Im awful jealous of that little rig that dual on the land wheel is neat . Is it hard to control ? I have a little pep p pal with a one bottom plow but running that thing is like wrestling an elephant

Hey SV, if you want you can come get my bcs 2 wheel, it needs the diesel engine and transmission rebuilt. I don't have a plow for it, just a tiller box, but you can still buy plows from bcs.

From your pictures- chains may be too short, plow insnt adjusted correctly, plow point (share) may be bent . My grndfather had a cub with plow and it was hydraulic lift with another lever for adjustment. Not sure from pictures if I am seeing that lever or manual lift lever.

Them little tractor and plow or any
thing with a plow on are fun to run. Two
years ago my one boy had the 39h his boy
had the 39 l my next boy had the 38l his
boy had the 40l and I had the unstyled
37l with the cultivator on it an we were
plowing at a show an lots of fun. We wait
tell the steamers go frist then us and as
the people watching the steamers then see
us they just smile an get a kick out of
them. We get some times people wanting
there garden plowed and worked up an we
have done some.

There is a weight made to go on the front. Plowing with this it becomes obvious that weight on the front would help. The TORQUE from pulling causes a pull downward on the handles so you're dealing with that. Other than that it isn't hard to control. For fun I took it to a plow day and used it along with the garden tractors. It plowed without a problem in 3rd gear, brisk walking speed. Guys asked how much horsepower does it have- stock as far as I know.

Do you have the depth control handle on your tractor. If not the plow will not stay down. I said a few kind words until I figured that out. Now it is fun to plow with

That is probably the lever I remember. Looking at the pictures again the chains dont look right either.

If you look closer at the pictures you can see GL has the depth control lever and it appears to be all the way forward. The reverse drawbar is quite low.

One thing, it takes 2-3 passes to get to full depth with these plows too. First pass won't be real deep. Second pass deeper. Third pass you may need to lift up on the depth control a bit to keep it from sinking to China.

I'm not sure what the problem is but hopefully it's a minor adjustment issue you can find.

I have the same set up and it does a great job. I usually set it up on my shop floor first. I put the one tractor wheel up on a 6x6 to simulate how it would be tilted when plowing.

This is getting me excited to plow the garden now. I'm ready for spring!
