MF 202 power steering pump gasket

I have the power steering pump for a Massey Ferguson 202 Industrial opened up and the gasket between the two pump halves is very
thin plastic material, almost like tape. Does anyone know what this is? The gasket fell apart during pump disassembly. Looking to
replace it - does packing tape sound like a reasonable substitute? Thanks

Typically, the plastic used would be Mylar, and I would suspect the thickness is critical.

Appears to be still available from Agco, part # 1018840M1.

A quick GOOGLE search turned up a dealer in Indiana that shows 1 in stock, do you have a nearby Agco dealer to check with?

Matt, I've got a 202. Been years since I looked at it, but I think they used about 4 different makes or models of ps pumps in the gas 202, and 2 others for the diesel. They sell a parts manual for this tractor, probably on this site. I've found the cutaway drawings it contains to be invaluable over the years when used in conjunction with the owners and repair manual, also probably available on this site.

I ended up using clear plastic packing tape as my gasket. So far no leaks and the power steering works like new. Fingers crossed. I will look into that AGCO part , though. was getting impatient to drive it after a long rebuild
