I guess it was a lot better in real life. You had to be there. The View was breathtaking. Spectacular

I' m sure it was good. Been in the san juan's enuff to know what your talking about Deltared. Love the Colorado rockies. RB

not too bad on a diagonal. You just experienced a slight back and forth roll like being on a boat. Diagonal levels things up pretty good, better than straight up and down with the rows.

Wow. Nice straight mark. You must have GPS on the tractor! Or a really keen eye! Is this considered early for spring work or normal?

Seen an article in a pickup magazine year or 2 ago, a guy from there in Delta, if I remember right had a restored IH scout. Anyways the background was beautiful. I thought I'm pretty sure a guy on YT is from that area.

GPS? No such thing on my farm. LOL just many years of practice. It is a bit early for here but this winter has been so dry and it's warmed up so we are farming. Normal is about first middle of March so we're not too far off.

It's always interesting how the same things are referred to with different terms depending on where you're at. Growing up in Colorado's Arkansas Valley I don't recall ever hearing the term "watermark" to refer to the irrigation furrows but reading your posts I assume that must be common in your area of the Western Slope. Around Rocky Ford everyone talks about "furrows" that you make with a "furrowing bar" after which the field is "furrowed".

I have to ask, you already have the ridges and it doesn't look like there is much trash. Why not just plant on top of the ridges that are already there? I have heard of cornbelt farmers that make ridges to plant on top of, each year they just run over it to make the ridges taller and then the planter levels off the top and plants on it. That would save lots of time and fuel. Look up Buffalo Ridge till.

This field is exceedingly clean compared to most. I will most likely just run a chisel plow a cross it. Most all the fields are trashy enough that they need to be plowed to get a clean surface for the water to run.
