Ih 674 rear tires

All depends on what you are using the tractor for. I believe the "showroom" tire for that tractor is a 16.9-30. Next size bigger is an 18.4? If your using it with a snow blower that wood really backup faster. I would think it backs up to fast already. Also the 18.4 tire would stick out wider then the snow blower. I would imagine you are trying to achieve a faster road speed. That would sure do it but remember that will speed up all forward gears, bush hog, baler and anything else you use 1st. gear for. Years ago I rented a hog barn 2 miles up the gravel road. Pulled the full feed mill up there with a Farmall H. Twice a week. After a rain when the road was soft I could not pull it in high gear so had to drop back to 4th. gear. There is such a spread between 4th. and 5th. on an H. Oh my God it would take me forever. I solved my problem by putting smaller tires on. Made enough difference that I could use 5th. in all conditions. Only you know if it will work for what you are using tractor for. Good luck.

Which gearing do you have? If it is the Row Crop (straight front axle and bar rear axles) it would have the slower gears and be at home with 18.4-30s or 15.5-38s. If it is the utility style 674 then 16.9-30s would have it fast enough.

I have 18.4x30s on mine. They're fine except it's a little tight putting on tire chains. Not much clearance under the fenders so i don't travel too fast when they're on. 16.9x30 would be a better fit, looks wise, although i like the ground clearance with the 18.4s when I use it in the bush or round baling.

We had a 674 Diesel utility with 18.4x30 rear tires, a very good tractor but they only came with the slow speed transmission and we always found that 2nd Lo was too slow and 3rd Lo was too fast to bale or chop corn in heavy crops and it was slow on the road in 4th Hi but would pull a heavy load up a hill. Dad only kept it a year and traded for a 684 with T/A. The 684 had same 18.4x30 rear tires and the medium speed transmission but with the T/A that also gave an extra gear in between gears for heavy crops. My brother still has the 684.
According to my brother the 18.4x30 tires are not as common as the 16.9x30 tires are are much more $$.
