Re: Can you haul anhydrous tanks on a gooseneck traile

I forgot about that quirk where it splits up the responses in modern view, so I shortened it if anyone wants to continue her conversation.

I pulled it 150 miles from Iowa on super rough roads. The bottom tanks have two straps. The top tank is on four oak planks. It has two straps with a twist at the bottom and another strap just over the top. The two strap with a twist prevent rolling and shifting. I also. Chained the feet of the bottom tanks to keep them from moving in or back. They were rock solid. I stopped and check the straps 10 miles after I left, they never came loose.

One guy mentioned the placards. I do not know what the right answer is, but I think he is right that I shoulda peeled them off.

When I left Van Horne, I got on hwy 30 to get to 151. A tan Iowa state patrol car passed me, got a real good lol, and continued on. That does not mean I did nothing wrong, but it does mean he decided I was not worth his time...

I will admit I was nervous. You sure notice the roughness of the road when you haul a load like this!
