Five foot blade for JD970

Anyone here have a preference over the Agri Supply or Tractor Supply five foot blade?? BIL finally got the front end finished on the tractor he bought back in November, looking to get a blade for the back to work on the driveway, move snow if we get enough. No Rural King anywhere remotely near us.

I'd bet they're made by the same company. Most of those smaller farm supply store blades are the same. I would recommend getting one quick hitch ready even if you don't have a quick hitch. That way you'll be good to go if you get one later.

My question is... is your 970 2 wd or 4 wheel drive and what type of tires? I put a 6' on a Ford 1210 (16 engine hp) which only weighs in around 2300 with loader and blade but is 4 wheel drive. Turf tires in summer but AG in winter though I don't use the blade much in winter as I have a blower to throw the snow away from the drive. Your 970 should weigh more without attachments and my personal opinion is should handle a 6' just fine especially if FWD fwiw. If there is a rental place near that could let you try one for a few hours you could get a better idea.
