Farmall B Pneumatic Lift-All or Exhaust Lift

Hello Everyone,

Wondering if there is anyone still around that has any experience with these old exhaust lifts? Plenty of old old posts on it but the main question was if anyone knew of a place to source parts for it before I tear into ours? Farmall B with a cultivator, when I pull the lever back hard I can hear it cap the exhaust off at the muffler and attempt to lift (but can't get far) so that gives me some hope. Thinking it is likely within the cylinder itself (believe they used leather seals of some sort?) I'm aware there was an issue of Red Power that discussed this in detail but that has since sold out.

Appreciate any advice or direction on where to source, not really needing it for functional reasons but they seem to be getting more and more rare and since all components are there it would be neat to have working.

I don't know of a source that stocks parts for them. I bought some parts of someone who had a restored b with an exhaust lift and he said that he had bought half a dozen lifts before he had enough parts to make a good one. Good luck with fixing yours.

A few years ago I was at the Florida Flywheelers show. I remember a man there with a whole wagon of farmall parts and quite a selection of exhaust lift parts.

Thanks Guys. I guess I should have added/clarified a bit too, I think functionally I have all the components and it is in working order, just needing the seals or whatever would be involved from that side which unfortunately I'm sure all the used parts would have the same issue. Might have to just tear into it and see whats what and report back.

At best they weren't much. Leaking seals, valves, plumbing. Also hard on exhaust valves in engine. Is it possible to update to another lift mechanism? I became familiar with them when I worked at county road commission mowing off roadsides with side mounted sickle mower. Could barely get mower lifted. That was years ago.

from memory of the one my father had on a farmall tractor he used to disassemble it each spring and soak the leather in used oil for a week or so then reassemble. it always worked fine then for the season.

I think I have seen the same question posted on the Farmall Discussion Board and the answer is yes parts are available. Might want to do a search on there using Modern View.

YES since 1948 they work just fine if the operator just did his part. I have the leathers call 319 430 3907 24/7 and i will be glad to help
