Eagle Hitch on SC, the good, bad, and ugly

I don't know about the SC. I have a VAC. There's nothing to convert. I use it like a three point hitch, except that the draft/lift arms are more like a quick hitch.

The SC requires a bracket over the pto for the third link. With that bracket they work just like a 3pt except the arms are rigid. They work fine for back blades and tillage equipment. Where the problem comes is with pto equipment like a brush mower as the pto is covered. For this you need to either modify the equipment with a higher third link hookup to use the upper hook on the tractor or make a new bracket for over the pto that leaves the shaft open. Either will work and are fairly easy to do. The pto is also higher than standard so sometimes that can cause issues. But for most things they work fine.

The hook/arms on my VAC wore to the point it would unhook on rough ground or if the brush hog hit something. I converted it to three point. The geometry is not perfect as far at the top link is concerned, but it's more useful with the three point arms.

My DC, this is how it I got it, for the top link it is a standard one that has been shortened and the bracket for it is just a piece of metal with 2 tabs that the top link pins into, it has a large hole that has been torched so a pto can still be used, I have never tried using the pto with a 3 point mower so I am not sure how it would work for that, it seems like the pto is up very high compared to other tractors so I think that it might not be able to use a 3 point mower well but I don't know.

Lots of them used on rotary mowers here no problems with the higher position,, they do need to have either the mount changed like yours or you can add on to the implement mast to get the right geometry

Good looking top link bracket.
Here are a few photos of the top bracket my dad made up in 1971. The 1952 Case D has a pair of 150 lb weights on the front and it still gets easy steering when you lift the 10 foot flail up to make turns. I can photos of flail and tractor hooked up later if there is interest. Still to wet to mow so it is not hooked up yet this year.

Leave it as Eagle Hitch. Eagle Hitch will fit 90% of Category 1 implements. Case designed it this way. You will preserve the value of the tractor and it will still perform just fine. If the cast claw pieces are broken you can buy kits online to replace them. John Seali probably has them too.

I know they advertised you could hook up from your tractor seat (everyone and their dog advertised that back in the day) but whether its true 3 point, eagle hitch, snap coupler, fast hitch or whatever, you are probably going to have to dismount to get everything hooked up.
People should anyways just to do a walk around and make sure everything is set up correctly.

I use my 300 and VAC eagle hitch on all my category 1 equipment no problem.

Photo towing trailer is from years ago but it shows Case D in orchard mode with pair of weights up of the smaller 15 inch car tires up fron and short 24 inch rubber in rear.
Field mode saw the front weight bracket come off, front 15 car replaced with taller 16 inch tri ribs, and rear 24 tead grader tires replaced with 26 inch traction tread duals

An Sc with an eagle hitch is not real common. Way more DC tractors have eagle hitches than SC's. I wouldn't convert an SC to 3pt. I think you will find most cat.1 implements will fit your SC just fine.
