I have written a report as a Microsoft Word document and wished to send as an attachment. The recipient has asked me to send it PDF. I do not know how to do this. I am not very good with computes so it must be complete instructions.

Open your Word file and then save it as a PDF. Sorry, it's been a while since I used MS Word, so I don't recall the exact menu option. Try File->Save As and see if there's an option to save in PDF format.

Take a look at this.

If you click on print as if you were going to send the word document to your printer, a place to select a printer should come up on the print screen. Look down the list. Do you see Microsoft Print to PDF in the list of printers? If you do click on that and follow the ques. When you click print it will print (save) it as a PDF in the location you choose to save it.

Unless they added it in a newer version than I have, there is no option to save as a .PDF file. They offer quite a few optional formats to save in, but .PDF is not among them.

You can click on
File
then Save As...
then in the box below the one where you name the file...
I believe you can click on the down-arrow of that File Type box... and you can choose PDF.

Another option is to scan your doc (if you have a scanner), then Save As a PDF file.

Hope this helps.

Are you sending it in an email, if so do you know the steps to add an attachment? Or by saying ..Post Message.. do you mean you are posting it to YT in a reply or in another forum?

If it's only a few pages what I do is print it out then scan it, after scanning it it gives me the option to save it as a pdf file.

Scanning would be the solution of last resort. It would result in a large, poor quality file that contains no actual text.

For the older versions of word that don't have the pdf option under the print command: At the top left, click on the Save file as and a drop down menu comes down on the left. You will then see an option to Publish. One of the options to publish is Publish to pdf as I recall. They would save pdf's but called it Publish. Now some programs say Print to pdf and some say Save as pdf.

On some when you click on Save As, it opens up a box that has a place to change the name and the extension is on a line underneath. If you click on the right side of the extension line, it will often open to to a wide range of choices for file extensions with .pdf being one of them.

Download a program "cutepdf" add it as a printer and then when you go to print the file select the cutepdf printer and away you go. This will work with any file that you can print, I use it to print a music score.

Everything I E File in our local courts MUST BE IN PDF FORMAT. I usually prepare a document (often using Microsoft Word) then save or if I have to Scan a Document and SAVE AS PDF, then click on ATTACH files, pick it and send, easy peasey.

PREPARE ,,,,,,, SAVE AS A PDF FILE,,,,,,,,,,SELECT AND ATTACH THE SAVED PDF FILE,,,,,,,,SEND

Adobe Acrobat Reader (think that's it no warranty) and other free programs and apps use PDF (Portable Document Format) files, but if you need more features and editing ability you have to pay.

That will "work" but if your software package includes the ability once a document is prepared TO SAVE AS PDF just doing that
will save the steps of printing then scanning .......But hey whatever works for you !!!

My last 2 or 3 versions of Microsoft Word have the capacity to SAVE AS PDF I cant say about older versions, its been too long lol

Save it as a word document.
Then download Open Office, a really free ware set of Microsoft Office clones.
You can then use it to export your file as a PDF.
