FEL mod for hay ring

I have an old Dearborn loader with a trip bucket on my Ford 800 - single acting cylinders for up only.
I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a good modification to the bucket or as a stand alone implement to pick up bale rings and set them on the bale? Needs to go on the front.
Maybe removable hooks to grab the top bar of the ring, and some kind of stabilizer projecting down to keep it from rotating?
I've seen Buck's implement, but it's pricey when I'm on SS, and anyway my 3pt has top-n-tilt on a Quik Hitch, so it wouldn't work right.

I dump the bale directly in the ring.

If I need to move the ring, I move it first, then dump the bale in it.

If I had to move hay ring with load with trip bucket, I'd do it the same way I move them with the chain on spear

Position the spear so it will pass through one of the "holes" then drive until the bucket touches the ring, lift bucket until the spear touches the top of the "hole"

Run a chain from each top corner of the bucket to the sides of the hay ring (approx 60 degrees from the spear) so each chain and the spear forms a triangle. (spear at 6 o'clock, chains are at 10 & 2.

Lift loader, ring should lift sort of evenly, you can then set it where you want.

Now I just move with Euro QA spear, can use it as a big hook and never get off the seat.

Lift the loader,

I use a bale spear too, but I suppose without tilt it may not work as well. Maybe more of a horizontal hook than a plain spear?

I welded 1 rebar on the sides of my backhoe bucket and bent
it in a u. I can grab a bale on front and grab one with the
extendahoe and a ring on each hook and head across the
pasture. Mostly just use the skid steer to feed now though

I use the John Deere 45 loader and run the teeth under the top ring or second one down and pick it up. Sometimes the ring will
tilt about 45 degrees, but can still get it over bale

I have a all hydraulic loader, but when I move the ring I just drive into it and
'spear' it' The ring won't fall off no matter how poorly I 'speared' it. When setting
it over the bale, I probably do tilt the spear but I doubt it is 100% necessary. I
have sometimes picked up a ring with the loader bucket by catching the upper corner of
the side of the loader bucket on the outside of the ring. The ring is then offset to
the tractor. Even then I am surprised how well it works- I don't believe I ever
dropped one that way either. Mark.
