Got lucky again!

This is my 9th snow of the season. We get an inch or less each time. Never enough snow the get the Kubota out.
South of me got more snow.

Many schools are closed, or on a 2 hour delay or switched to e-learning.
When a storm is heading my way it either goes north of I 70 or south of I 70.

Folklore says a gypsy Queen is buried on a hillside west of West Terre Haute and she protectes us from bad weather.

I don't believe in folklore. However something is going on. Bad weather, including tornadoes, many times goes around me.

Maybe I'm just lucky.

Between 7 and 8 inches here. most times the snow is above I-70 and we get ice. My only cab tractor without duals is in back of the shop in pieces so will be a cool morning moving snow
 
You are about 50 miles south of me. Right?
All my tractors are healthy.
I'm teasing Mother nature. Haven't put the snow plow on the Farmall this year.

The school district here only cancels school for cold if the wind chill gets below negative 25. It only got to negative 24 today, so school is on.
 
Between northern WI and MN is the ST. Croix river valley. It has a tendency to influence the weather coming from MN.
 
Same here this year and I'm in the Lake Erie snow belt. Had a 2 foot balst in early Dec. the another 18 on Christmas. Since then only an inch or two at a time. Right now we're just on the edge of this cold wave.
 
We live about 7miles from Timms hill the highest point in Wisconsin and that happens here the storms go either north or south of us. At least most of the time. But we sure do get cold it was 41 below at 3:30 this morning then 27 below at 5:00 clock nice warm up shiver. Randy
 
Terre Haute's name was derived from the French phrase terre haute (pronounced [tɛʁ ot] in French), meaning "highland."

Perhaps the elevation, not the gypsy queen, has more to do with storms going north or south of Terre Haute.

Don't really know.
