My Dad (seated on the 60) had a couple of them,, I painted these two up for him

cvphoto74835.jpg

this was his custom cutter one year, we told him there was a couple Soft spots,, he said his Deere's would walk through any mud puddle Wyoming had to offer,, he was at the controls when this happened, the header was all the way up,, it took the largest wrecker in town to pull it out,, it was on a semi chassis and had two other wreckers hooked to it as anchors before they were able to suck it out of the mud,,

That combine picture looks like the last 4or 5 years previous to last fall cutting beans. I told my brother how much fuel I used to do one field. He asked why so much I said it takes more to plow it and combine it in one trip.

Both 47's ..... now that's interesting. Any more info about that as for the changeover during the same model year?

The first two are the JD750 I owned for 28 years before trading for a Kubota with a cab.

The last one, unfortunately, is only a model I built. I'd love to have it IRL!

I was about 5 when dad bought his first JD combine with a 2 row head. Don't know how to rotate pic or add color. No cab back then.

Larry I am 72 so just a few years older but my wife and I do a lot of sawing and don't plan on quitting any time soon. Randy

So are we supposed to wait for a new post about 4 pm before we post pictures or is it just a green free for all?

This might have been factory original green on this Chev truck but it looks close to JD green to me. Spotted at a farm auction here in spring of 2014.

Some green. The implements are mine, the tractors are a relatives. And of course I will include my Case BER plow with a green frame. My sickle mowers and disc aren't very green but they are JD.

I like the idea of the antiquity of Horse tail, but it can be a real pest as it is so different than run of the mill weeds that it difficult to kill.

Perdue info

Nearly forgot. Guess my brain is frozen up from the -40 wind chill factors out there but here is something from a warmer time. Riding the 2140 on a warm July day raking hay. Parked beside the 7721 parts combine. Its a good memory.

Looking out of the cab of a 6030 John Deere that I drove 230 miles home in April 2006.....I'm on Teter Hill in the Kansas Flint Hills northwest of Eureka..The famous 16 ft tall Teter Rock is close.... It was dry so theres not much green grass..At least the 6030's hood is green...The road I was on goes straight east out of Newton,KS for over 50 miles....I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Mecum auction in Muscatine IA, fawn in some weeds at my moms in KS I was probably 4 ft away when I snapped the pic, USS Texas ammo. Oddly enough all from 2017.
