Vermeer 504

I’m looking for a new to me Baler, but I’m on a budget. I have a market for small round bales (4x4), but will be feeding most of what I roll. I like what I’ve read about Vermeer balers so far. I found a nice looking 504L that is close to my budget. Will that baler make a nice 4x4 bale also?

I would think so............ I’m not familiar with an L series, but I’ve had a 505 super I for over 20 years. My I will make any size bale, up to 5ft, and any size bale is in nice shape. I’ve been very happy with my Vermeer baler.

I beleive those were built starting in 1998 and need at least a 50 hp tractor to run. Yes, they are variable size, probably as small as 3 foot.

You can make a 6" bale if you want, all the way to max with ease, if you have auto-tie you can adjust the max bale size sensor to make them all the same size or just stop when you reach the size on the gauge you want and hit "Start Tie" and or start wrapping with hyd tie depending on what it was equipped with, I always make a few under sized bales when I get to the end of a field or dry hay to bale

I had a 604L, it made a real good tight bale, easy to operate. Also, if the monitor was ion the shop or you don't want to use it, it will bale just fine without it. Just need to hook a toggle switch to the tie motor.
