off topic, 2016 Chevy Traverse

My wife just had an unusual accident with this car. She pulled into the driveway and slowed down at the garage door to back in and the car lurched forward and bounced off a Walnut tree and accelerated toward the barn for about 40 yards before she got it stopped. Can't figure this out. Something she does every day so I really don't suspect driver error. After it gets out of the body shop the guys are going to take it to the Chevy garage and run a computer diagnostic on it. (any ideas?). Thanks, Ellis

There isn't a recall open on it, is there?

We had a Pontiac minivan once that at slow speeds it would unexpectedly yank the steering wheel out of your hands and cramp the front wheels all the way to one side.

Even though the vehicle was 6 or 8 years old, there was still a recall open on it to replace the steering rack. The previous owner had ignored the recall.

Happened to my wife in a 3.6 Olds. Slowly backing out of the driveway, it went to full throttle. She mashed the brake. Finally remembered to through it in neutral. Chevy dealer said it was intake manifold vacuum malfunction !

yeah... you may think about trading it.

no offense intended by any means but those small to midsize GM cars/suvs are not good going back quite a few years. we supply GM they have the most lax quality programs out there. I'll be surprised if they don't need another bailout at some point as they haven't corrected anything since the last time. pickups/Suburbans aren't so bad. I think they put a bit more care into their bread and butter vehicles. but the malibus/cruzes (and their suv cousins) are intended to be throw away cars.

yes they all have problems Ford Chrysler even Toyota but not like those.
