case-Harris combine

no such combine. its either case or massey harris. massey harris used the chrysler flat heads then went to the 318 v8 around 1970. case had
their own engine .

Sorry but you are wrong. There was a company Harris that made combines for the Pacific Northwest starting around the early 1900s all the way up through the 60s. I think Case partnered up with them to make hillside combines. My neighbor had a self propelled Harris combine before it was scrapped.

MF used the Chrysler 170 six in the 205, and Chrysler 225 six in the 300 gas combines. The 410 gas used the Chevy 292 six, 510 gas used the Chevy 327 or 350 V-8 and 750 gas used Chevy 350 V-8. Case and Oliver/White used the Chrysler 318, but MF never did.

and massey harris used the 230 flathead in the massey 82 and the 265 flathead in the super 92, the same engine cockshutt and oliver used. overhauled both these engines and used these combines.

Just plain Harris. Nothing to do with Massey or Case. They were built in California, primarily for use in the rolling Palouse country in eastern Washington. College friend had 4 of them, and I ran one of them for harvest about 25 years ago. Good machine, threshed very clean. His were hillside versions, and very stable on some really steep hills. He had adapted Jeep air conditioners to them (they all had cabs). They finally got too worn out to continue with them, and he sold them to another Harris fan in the area to keep his going. He bought an IH 1620 (I think that's the right number).

Well I learned something new today. That is the beauty of this site we learn about machines we never knew existed. I knew there was a Harris combine but I did not know Case got involved with the hillside version.
