5010 for SV!

Someday I will have a 5010 or 5020 I hope

Those 5010/20 tractors really had some beef in them. When I was working for the salvage yard we had a forklift we used to move dead tractors that could lift an entire 1850 Oliver or like tractor. But when it can to the 5010/20 it wouldn't pick the rear end if the axles had the castings on them. No wonder they were common to see repowered with truck engines.

I know, right! Besides,I am just passing
this along, I don't know anything about
it anyway, and I don't claim to. I
thought it may be of some interest to you
guys, so I posted it.

Yes! I've logged more hours than that on a 5010 and I haven't driven one in forty years.

That's an interesting picture. The Hesston 4800 balers shown were first produced in 1978 so those tractors would have had some age on them.

You don’t even seen 5010 or 5020 around here never seen one for sale and only 6030 I’ve ever seen Is like a plow with coulters only in a picture book

I believe you're right. The 6030 that replaced it stood in for the "4830" that never existed in the 30-series family that came out in 1973. The 4840 then replaced the 6030 in 1978.

It is always interesting to me that for the first year or so you could actually order a 6030 with the naturally-aspirated engine from the 5020. Only a handful were ever built that way, though.
