Case Combine Filmstrip Archive Done....

Well, I just posted the last of three filmstrip videos pertaining to JI Case combines. No gripes this time as the records were near minty & the filmstrips were in excellent shape. With the videos ending up with a run time of 20 - 24 minutes, it took quite a bit of time to sync the audio with the film. Probably about four hours a piece. It was enjoyable to do, as it went quite smoothly. Now, I'm off to start copying ones for John Deere tractors & equipment. This ought to take a while. There is a mountain of them. SV.... you may want to stock up on popcorn. ;v)

Hope you folks enjoy!! And yes, they are all ad free.

Case combine heaven....

Watched one and it is great! I will be watching the rest soon. Love those old film strips and movies. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!

Thanks for what you do. I watched one of the Case combines vids and it was great. Although I do find it funny they compared their combine to ones that were the next size down in the competition.

Very glad you enjoy! My goal has been to bring these filmstrips to light & not let them sit on a shelf somewhere. I can only imagine how many are sitting in someone's vast collection, never to be seen. Makes me think of the Ark getting stored away at the end of Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

I did get half the record for the JD dealership promo to play. The rest..... yeah, the court's still out on that. The filmstrip is in great shape. Too bad JD cheaped out & went with B&W film. I was rather shocked to see that.

The size comparison is accurate since they are all the largest two row machines from each company. The 600 case would compare to the jd 45 and the 900 to the 55, all 2/3 row machines. The competition gets tighter on the next step as case only adds two inches to the cylinder for the 1000 model which is four row and would compare to the 95 jd and 403 ih.

Its not accurate because the largest 2-3 row combine JD offered at that time was the 95 which as specs close to the 900 maybe too close.

Both the 95 and 900 have 40” separator/separator. A 55 only has an30” cylinder. The 95 has slightly more separator area and im guessing a little bit more hp. The 900 is way closer to a 95 then 55. The 105/503 are all together bigger machines.

Ohhhh! Got it. That gives me an idea. Think I'm going to make a playlist featuring the three combines. That should be neat. Provided the JD ones turn out ok. Haven't gotten far into that collection yet. Really wish I could find a filmstrip for Ford, Ollie & Gleaner to spice it up a bit.

I'm not sure you can judge capacity by with of cylinder alone. I thought JD. had larger dia. cylinder and therefore more square inches of concave. And then you have square inches of separator to compare. Just because you have wider cylinder does not mean you have bigger machine.

You are right on all of that. And you would have a point if say you were comparing a 95 to a 600. However, like I stated before the 900 has the same width of cylinder along with almost as much separation area as the 95. That makes both combines close to each other in my book. Certainly a lot closer then a 900 to a 55.

You are still not right since the 95 would still be a four row machine in corn and the 900 does not have that option. Plus the 95 would still have to compete with the 1000 and later the 1060/1160 depending on year. The 600/900 and later 660/960 were cases smallest machines, so getting down to the level of the others just wasn't possible. The later 105 and ih 503 would have compared to the 1660 and lastly the 1665 from case.

Jon 1660/1665 are the same machine/capacity, the 1665 has a longer wheel base to carry the 6 row corn head and is built with heavier steel in places for the extra stress of the 6 row 306 head ,, they did have std the high speed clean grain auger systems, but that was a option on the 1660,, other than what I stated they are the same machine
