In the plow match pictures, what was the long white PVC pipe on the Oliver 77 for??

Another question or 2. The 300 and mounted plow, What was the cylinder mounted on top of the plow for?? I've never seen one like that before, I noticed that it wasn't used when he raised and lowered the plow. Does the plow have poly moldboard covers on it? They looked yellow instead of shiny when he raised the plow to turn on the end. Cool videos, I enjoyed watching them. Oh, in the plowing match, is there a speed limit?? Seemed to me like they all were going really slow.

super99, the white PVC tube is where he stores his 3 sighting poles that he uses to set up his plowing plot.
The cylinder on the mounted plow is the hydraulic depth adjust. It lets the operator to adjust the angle and thus the depth of the plow on the fly. It also aids in quicker ground penetration when you are at the headlands. Think of it as a hydraulic toplink. The plow does have yellow poly covers on them. They really do make it plow easier and the don't plug up like metal ones (the metal ones are still underneath to add a "backbone").
There is no speed limit on the plowing competition. You are graded on quality of work. However there is a plowing time limit and you get penalized heavily if you go over that time. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to try and answer them.
