Does anyone know what make/model this is. I think its from the 1940s or 50s. Its wheel driven.

the adjustment zig-zag for the left hand lever should be a key to identification. I haven't seen that type before. Otherwise, I would guess a model of New Idea spreader, though NI usually has flares at the top of the sides.

I have a New Idea 14A. I believe that is what you have pictured. I just replaced part of the bed and the chain in October.

A sort of non-relevant question.....shouldn't the tires all be mounted as the ones on TractorTucker's spreader since they drive rather than power the machine?

I've got a McCormick that looks just like yours. I replaced all the rotted wood in the floor and sides except for the top board that fits into the metal top rail with composite decking a couple of years ago. Works great and no more rot. Chains and sprockets will probably never wear out before I won't need it anymore.

The tires really should be put on backwards for maximum bite. If it gets to pulling so hard where the tire direction makes a difference the spreader should not be heaped as high. Something is going to break.
